Wonder Woman has existed for nearly-75 years and yet Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the first time we will see the character brought to life on the big screen. A truly historical moment indeed, but it'll also be significant because Wonder Woman's brief appearance will build interest for her solo film and open the door to the formation of the Justice League -- DC Comics' counterpart to Marvel's The Avengers.

"She's able to bring her story as the tease of more to come," director Zack Snyder told Total Film. " I think once you've seen this movie, you'll realize why they immediately wanted to go and make her own standalone movie, because [Gal]'s just incredible," adds Ben Affleck.

Gal Gadot begins filming her Wonder Woman solo film, being directed by Patty Jenkins (Monster), in London next month and then she'll start filming the two-part Justice League film. It'll be helmed by Snyder, who has the daunting task of making Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) come together as a superhero team. "It's crazy, amazing job to have to worry about The Flash or Wonder Woman, or what Cyborg's going to in this scene," Snyder said. "It's not a thing anyone can complain about..."

Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016. Wonder Woman will land in theaters on June 23, 2017. Justice League Part One will open in theaters on November 12th, 2017, followed by Justice League Part Two on June 14th, 2019.
