AJ Styles is not exactly what wrestling fans would call a "rookie", but for those unaware of this man's body of work are about to find out why he's called phenomenal. Though, joining the WWE at the age of 38 might seem like a misstep to some. WWE has been essentially breeding their talent from the ground up with the NXT program with guys 10 years his junior, but Styles isn't a man who is intimidated by his situation.

"I'd say I'm in my prime now," Styles told Rapzilla, who feels like there's no end in sight. "You don't really get there until you're in your thirties. Unless you have been wrestling the top guys for a long time you really don't get that experience."

True, NXT has been on a roll recently scooping up a plethora of indie talent from across the field with experienced guys like Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, Kevin Steen/Owens and Shinsuke Nakamura, but AJ has made the biggest impact in the shortest amount of time since debuting at the Royal Rumble. In the past, guys like Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose all have indie cred and have worked their way to the top and were molded to fit the WWE house style, but still did their thing and got over by being themselves. All of them though, are a handful years younger than AJ. Rollins isn't even 30 yet.

AJ went on to say that he feels that, for him, this is the best time to have finally signed with the sports-entertainment giant. "Experience is everything…it's just like life. We learn from everything we've faced in our lives and we know what not to do. Everything that's happened to me no matter where I've been has worked to this point now. I get it, this is where I need to be. I belong in the WWE."

So how do you readers feel about this? Does AJ still have a lot to offer, or do you feel he's running on borrowed time? Should age be a factor at all if he can keep up with the younger generation like Ambrose and Rollins? Did WWE waste their time in signing him this late in the game? Sound off below!
