Arrow Reportedly Casts Black Canary--And It's Not Who You Think

Taking the show in a very unexpected direction, The CW's Arrow has cast Caity Lotz as the Black Canary, reports The Wrap. The role, which most fans had assumed would be filled by series star and Ollie's on-again, off-again love interest Katie Cassidy, is identified as Dinah Drake--a recurring character who could be upgraded to series regular and who is likely being set up as a potential lover for the lead character as well. Lotz, who recently appeared on Mad Men, joins Joss Whedon alum Summer Glau on the series, which returns this fall.
