Batman Getting A Sidekick Again, Robin Rises: Omega #1 Preview

DC Entertainment has released a preview of Robin Rises: Omega #1 (via USA Today).

Beginning this Wednesday, Robin Rises will see Batman go on a long journey, concluding in December, to retrieve the bodies of Damian Wayne, his son and former sidekick, and Talia al Ghul, Damian's mother, after they are stolen from Gotham by Talia's father, Ra's al Ghul.

The series also promises to see the return of Robin, though who will be wearing the costume remains to be seen. Damian was killed in the pages of Grant Morrison and Chris Burnham's Batman Incorporated. Now, writer Peter Tomasi and artist Patrick Gleason to find someone to fill Damian's place. Tomasi says that Robin, whoever is wearing the mantle, helps bring balance to Batman.

"Batman needs a Robin, at least in terms of having someone to play off of and a lightness of tone as opposed to being immersed in all the darkness." Tomasi says. "It's a nice balance having a Robin around."
