Five Questions We Want Answered in Supergirl - Manhunter
Supergirl is quickly marching towards its season finale, with just a few more episodes left to [...]
What Other Secrets Is J'onn Hiding?
What really happened between J'onn J'onzz and the DEO? J'onn told Alex and Kara that Jeremiah Danvers died protecting J'onn from the real Hank Henshaw, but was he telling the whole truth? Was there a reason that Henshaw was hunting J'onn in the first place or was he simply the wrong alien stranded on the wrong planet? And how exactly did J'onn manage to impersonate Henshaw to the point that his subordinates couldn't tell Henshaw had been replaced? Tonight's episode should provide a lot of clarity about J'onn's earliest days with the DEO and it shouldn't be surprising if an extra secret or two gets spilled in the process.
prevnextWhat Really Happened to Hank Henshaw?
Spinning off of the last slide, is there a chance that Hank Henshaw is still alive? J'onn claims that Hank died alongside Jeremiah Danvers in Peru, but is it possible that the real Hank Henshaw is still alive? There's a reason than J'onn was reluctant to use his mental powers earlier this season and it could tie into his past with Hank and Jeremiah. If Hank is alive, where did J'onn "hide" him and is there a chance he could come back to haunt the DEO...perhaps as a Cyborg supervillain of some kind?
prevnextWill Lucy Lane Hold a Grudge Against the DEO and Supergirl?
Although Lucy Lane quit her job at CatGo after breaking up with Jimmy Olsen, she's returning to Supergirl after a one episode absence leading the federal government's investigation into the DEO. What's unclear is whether Lucy's solely acting as an agent of the government, or if she has her own private axe to grind with the DEO and Supergirl for their role in her recent breakup. After all, Lucy's always felt a bit...apprehensive about Supergirl's relationship with Jimmy and her relationship troubles began when Lucy began investigated Max Lord's illegal detainment by the DEO. So far, Lucy has always been one of "good guys" on Supergirl, but her comic counterpart eventually became a villainous Superwoman working for her father General Lane and the federal government. Tonight's episode might mark the beginning of her transition from ally to villain.
prevnextIs Jim Harper the Guardian?
Tonight's episode will introduce another potential superhero in Jim Harper, the lead military investigator on the J'onn J'onzz case. In the comics, Jim Harper is better known as the Guardian, a Golden Age superhero working alongside the Newsboy Legion in Metropolis. Harper made subsequent appearances in the modern age as the head of security for the Cadmus Project, although it was later revealed that Guardian was actually a clone of the original Harper, who eventually died of old age. While it's doubtful that Harper's history with cloning will be brought up, it's possible that Supergirl's producers will give fans a nod to the character's past. Who knows, we may even see Harper take a new, more permanent role as the DEO's new head of security.
prevnextHow Will Kara Redeem Herself?
Supergirl's popularity is at an all time low, thanks to her actions while under the influence of red kryptonite. Cat Grant publicly branding Supergirl as a menace has National City on edge, while Jimmy Olsen has distanced himself from Kara after she insulted Lucy while coming onto him at a club. Even Alex admitted that Kara's words hurt her because she knew they came from a place of truth. So how will Supergirl earn everyone's trust back? Well, Supergirl has her winning personality back and Cat Grant back in her corner, so her task might be easier than she thinks. People have a tendency of forgetting the past really quickly in superhero stories, so a little bit of good PR and some really selfless acts could go a long way in returning Supergirl to National City's good graces.
