The Jada Metals Die Cast series expanded recently with new figures from both Marvel and DC. The Marvel figures focused on some of the Avengers from Avengers: Age of Ultron and Captain America: Civil War, while DC focused mostly on Suicide Squad and the women of DC Comics.
We received a box full of samples from Jada and did an unboxing video you can watch above of select figures, including Hulkbuster Iron Man, Wonder Woman (who has already taken a spot on our video set here at Comicbook.com), and three Supergirl figures.
The figures come in several size variations, including 2.5in, 4in, and the special Hulkbuster in 6.5in height. There are also standard 6in scale figures. Every one of these is die cast metal, as you should probably be able to figure out from the name, but you really notice that heft when you take them out of the box and handle them. The Hulkbuster is basically a weapon - it has a strong weight to it, and the top opens up, allowing you to put in the accompanying 2.5in Iron Man, which really rocks (the ComicBook office fought about who got to keep it on their desk after our unboxing).
The small scale figures, meanwhile, are just as sturdy, and easily stand on their own outside the box. With the high level of detail, the cutesy "chibi" style heads, and the many variations in looks from different costumes, paint jobs, and special editions, there's plenty to build a solid collection on. While sacrilege to some collectors, we'd highly recommend fully unboxing these, as the detail and build can really only be appreciated unencumbered by a plastic window.
