Joss Whedon had plenty of thoughts to share.

Recently he spoke with Vulture during an Equality Now event and discussed everything from spoilers, the ever expanding Marvel cinematic universe and Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron which he's putting the finishing touches on.

When asked about the last week's Phase 3 unveiling by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige, Whedon explained that while creating a cinematic comic book universe can be overwhelming, he's very excited about what's in store.

"You know, it is a little daunting, and you sort of go, [mock-whiny] "What about my movie?"" Whedon joked. "I haven't even been born and you already like my younger siblings better?" But at the same time it's exhilarating. It's really fun to see where Kevin's taking it and to see the workings of that mind. I think it was a very canny and very human move, I really like the slate."

Whedon was then questioned about any conversations with actor Idris Elba. In a recent interview with the Telegraph, Elba revealed a huge spoiler in that that both he and Tom Hiddleston would be making an appearance in Age of Ultron.

"Um, should he receive an email from me, there might be an attitude of scold," Whedon quipped. "Yeah, when you have a cast of 19,000 people, inevitably, once every month, you pick up [a story] and you're like, "Awww.""

His experience thus far writing and directing the sequel of the third highest grossing film of all time?

"Well, at this point, I'm still trying to connect those bananas and turn them into a bunch," Whedon said. "Yeah, I don't think that banana metaphor is going to go very far [laughs], but it's really fun, honestly. Even while I'm looking at ways in which I messed up, it's fun taking everything and connecting it, finding a way to make something more emotional or funnier or cooler, so I love the work."

Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters May 1, 2015.
