The Comic Book Legal Defense Fund (CBLDF) announced today that ReedPOP, the organization behind the New York Comic Con (NYCC), C2E2, PAX, and Star WarsCelebration, among others, is joining CBLDF as a Corporate Member. ReedPOP joins Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, Boom! Studios, ComiXology, Dark Horse, DC Entertainment, DCBS.com, Diamond Comic Distributors, IDW Publishing, Image Comics, Random House, Valiant, and TFAW.com as corporate supporters of CBLDF's free-speech and literacy work. ReedPOP Global Senior Vice President Lance Fensterman said, "We at ReedPOP have proudly supported the CBLDF's important work protecting the freedom to read since we started hosting conventions.  Their work ensures that the fans, creators, dealers, and publishers who gather at our events are free to explore the full universe of storytelling possibilities comics offer.  We're glad to take this step in providing a more meaningful level of support for their important work." CBLDF provides legal and educational resources that protect the freedom to read comics.  The organization is a partner in Banned Books Week, the Kids' Right to Read Project, Free Comic Book Day, and other national institutions highlighting intellectual freedom and literacy.
