Pokemon Go Twitch Streamer Gets Swat Team Called On Him In Park

In every walk of life, there will unfortunately always be people who can't seem to do anything other than cause problems for other people.

That was evident during a recent stream from Twitch streamer Summit1G (real name Jaryd Lazar), who along with his friend Kevin Davenport were walking in the park catching some Pokemon via Pokemon GO (via KKTV 11 News). Summit1G was streaming live on his Twitch channel when someone in the chat gave a cryptic hint that something was going to happen.

"We were just walking around [Monument Valley Park]," Lazar said. "I'm hearing on my Twitch channel that somebody is saying to start watching my channel in, like, five minutes. I thought somebody was just gonna come say 'what's up,' like a random viewer."

Instead, it turned out to be several police officers, who had gotten a false tip that someone in the park "has an AK-47 or an AR" and has "planted remote bombs in the park and wants to kill cops."

"The one cop had his rifle on us, and I saw a cop car across the street with a couple cops with rifles on us" Davenport recalled. "I was like, 'Aw, man, please just be good, don't do anything stupid."

For Lazar's part, he said they cops were extremely cool about the situation once they understood what was going on.

"I offered to give [officers] a little information about what was happening because I kind of knew, considering it happens to other streamers all the time but more in their homes. You get someone's address and you swat them. I never thought it would happen in a park."

Lazar expressed disappointment over the incident, but he did manage to achieve what he set out to do.

"It's always got to be some type of d**bag on Twitch," Lazar said. "Literally, all they're doing is making cops waste their resources, and putting people in danger...that guy was pulling an M16 [rifle] out of his trunk...and I still got the f****** Charmander, b****."
