Recently, Sideshow Collectibles sent us a few new figures to open up and share with everyone. Earlier, we unboxed an R2-D2 figure. Today, we're sharing the Captain Hans Solo Hoth and Tauntaun sixth scale figures.

Packaging: Both figures come in sleek black boxes with Star Wars logos printed onto them and high quality images of the figures in different poses. Captain Hans Solo Hoth's figure opens up and can be displayed with contents showing, while the Tauntaun figure comes in a huge box, carefully packaged in foam. Tauntaun can't be seen unless completely unboxed and a lot of easy assembly is required.

Aesthetics: Both figures have phenomenal details. The Hans Solo figure has great articulation in all of the body's joints. He comes with two separate heads, one with the face and perfectly groomed Harrison Ford hair and the other with goggles and a hood, prepared for the cold. The jacket, boots, hands (which come in 4 different interchangeable pairs), and all other features are detailed brilliantly right down to actual buttons on the pants.

Tauntaun does not have any articulation as it is more of a sculpture than a figure. However, it does come with two different head pieces that can change the direction Tauntaun is looking (one straight ahead, the other to it's left side). It's also loaded with extra accessories that attach to the figure's removable saddle.

Posability: By itself, Hans Solo can strike any classic poses or creative ones you come up with on your own. The articulation makes for great posability and the figure comes complete with a snow covered stand. Tauntaun has a saddle with straps for Han's feet (or any figure of similar size). When you saddle Han up for a ride, the two figures pair for a perfect pose that will take up a good bit of room on display.

Overall Value: Tauntaun checks in at $349.99 which feels a little steep, but when you get the box in the mail and see for yourself how big the figure is, it's fair. The careful and creative detailing that went into the figure (right down to it's footprints) creates the value. Captain Hans Solo Hoth sits at $199.99 which is a price you would expect from a figure like this. It's much more than a basic action figure and has more than enough accessories to keep the truest of Star Wars fan happy.

You can get your own Captain Hans Solo Hoth and Tauntaun figures at Sideshow Collectibles.
