According to Deadline, Cinemax has picked up Robert Kirkman's Outcast for series with a 10-episode order.

Anything from Kirkman is in hot demand as he created The Walking Dead comic book and serves as an executive producer on theAMC hit-television series. "We are thrilled to be in business with Robert Kirkman, a visionary talent who has the unique ability to tap into today's zeitgeist, making him a perfect fit for the newly expanded Cinemax roster," said Michael Lombardo, HBO Programming president.

Outcast, based on the Skybound/Image comic title by creator Kirkman and artist Paul Azaceta, follows Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), a young man who has been plagued by demonic possession all his life. Now, with the help of the Reverend Anderson (Philip Glenister), a preacher with personal demons of his own, Kyle embarks on a journey to find answers and regain the normal life he lost. But what Kyle discovers could change his fate — and the fate of the world — forever. Gabriel Bateman co-stars. The pilot was directed by Adam Wingard.

Kirkman penned the pilot episode for Outcast. Last July, Cinemax acquired the rights to Outcast and gave a pilot the green light. Kirkman will also been executive producer on the Outcast series.
