This Friday, a celebration of the art of Mark Mothersbaugh will be coming to the Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati.

Titled Myopia, the exhibit will open with a VIP-only reception at 6 p.m., followed by a conversation with Mothersbaugh for CAC members at 7 p.m. and the formal opening of the exhibit at 8 p.m. that night.

Best known for his work in the band DEVO, Mothersbaugh has also developed a successful career writing musical scores for film and television. In film, he has worked frequently with filmmaker Wes Anderson, scoring Bottle Rocket, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. He also composed for The Lego Movie, as well as a number of children's TV shows like Rugrats, Beakman's World and Clifford the Big Red Dog.

The exhibit at CAC will deal in both his visual art and his music, with a special performance by Mothersbaugh kicking it off on Friday.

You can follow the CAC on Twitter or check out their website for more information on the exhibit.
