Warner Bros. has hired Dan Kunka to write the script for the movie adaptation of the classic video game Space Invaders.
Space Invaders is one more ball in the air for Kunka, who is also working on the adaptation of Patriotic Fire: Andrew Jackson and Jean Laffite at the Battle of New Orleans and has a pilot in the works at SyFy. Kunka also recently sold his Blacklist script Yellowstone Falls, which is a story of wolves fighting zombies.
Considering the almost complete lack of plot in the original arcade cabinet game, Kunka will have to get creative if he's going to turn Space Invaders into something that works on screen.
