Is there anything the Man of Steel CAN'T do? In a story that can only fall under the "truth is stranger than fiction" category, a couple in the Southern United States, who have requested to remain anonymous, have managed to avoid foreclosure on their home by finding a copy of the ultra rare Action Comics #1, which contains the first appearance of Superman, in their basement. The home, which the couple have lived in since the 1950's, had several "old magazines and comic books", was on the brink of foreclosure. When the family called ComicConnect in New York to see how much they could get for the book, they were in for a surprise. Stephen Fishler, co-owner of ComicConnect, handled the valuation of the book, which took place at the recent San Diego Comic-Con. The book was graded at a 5.0, placing it at a "Very Good" rating. The book, which is expected to fetch upwards of $250,000 or more, should be more than enough to help the couple stay, permanently, in their home.
