The Overlook Hotel in Stephen King's The Shining was brought to life by visionary director Stanley Kubrick, was actually modeled after the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado. Last week, the hotel committee announced plans to turn the now legendary pop cultural landmark into museum dedicated to the macabre and horrific.

Yep, a horror museum, as well as a film archive and an actual production studio!

The movement has gotten a lot of momentum, even getting stars like Elijah Wood and Simon Pegg to join the founding board...but the state has yet to say "yes" thus far.

See, the hotel is seeking $11.5M in Colorado tourism funds to help implement the $24M it would cost to keep the hotel up and running as a year-round horror destination. The hotel already hosts ghost tours and a horror film festival in the Spring/early Summer each year.

So, readers, if the plan with this goes through, what sort of exhibits would you like to see? Would you be interested in going at all?
