X-Men: Days of Future Past - Mystique

Fox released the second trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past online earlier today. There's a lot going on in the trailer and it has fans pretty excited, so we've highlighted the five coolest moments from the trailer below for you get even more excited about. Enjoy. Mystique gets her ninja on. In the trailer, we get a clip of Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) taking down a group of soldiers single-handedly. It's very reminiscent of how Mystique behaved in the original X-Men films, especially that final pose she strikes. She seems to be Magneto's major enforcer in X-Men: Days of Future Past, so we're expecting to see a lot of her being generally badass.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - MagnetoMagneto leading the sentinels.

It looks like Magneto (Michael Fassbender) has taken control of humanity's robotic mutant-hunting machines in this scene. Based on how the future turns out, I'm sure that Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) figures out that sending metal machines after the Master of Magnetism isn't the greatest idea and implements a workaround, but it'll still be pretty cool to see Magneto teach them the lesson the first time around.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - SentinelsThat's a lot of sentinels

Speaking of sentinels, there are a lot of them in the future. Ships full. It's kind of terrifyingly awesome. Hey Star Wars, this is how you do a robot army. Pay attention.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - IcemanIceman finally gets his ice-slide on.

Bobby Drake (Shawn Ashmore), better known as Iceman, didn't get to do a whole lot in the first couple of X-Men films. It makes some sense, since he is portrayed as still being a student at the school and so not at the peak of his powers. It looks like he's been learning in the future, because we finally get to see Iceman riding on an ice-slide and freezing robots, which is kind of his signature thing.

X-Men: Days of Future Past - ColossusColossus fist fights a robot.

Another criminally underused character in the early X-Men films was Colossus (Daniel Cudmore). Looks like he's going to get a little more action in X-Men: Days of Future Past, because the trailer shows him going toe-to-toe with a sentinel. The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The characters from the original X-Men film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from X-Men: First Class in an epic battle that must change the past - to save our future. X-Men: Days of Future Past opens in theaters May 23, 2014.
