Every year since about 2012, Los Angeles-based artist/actor Barak Hardley has been painting easter eggs of real-life people (including celebrities, politicians, athletes) and fictional characters (from television and movies) that impacted our world over last 12 months. For his 2017 batch, Hardley spent “about 150+ hours into making these eggs and the video.”

Inspired by comic book movies, Hardley painted eggs of Logan and X-23 from Hugh Jackman’s final Wolverine movie, Spider-Man (with Cap’s shield) and Black Panther’s MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War, Thanos’ gauntlet, Margot Robbie’s sexy and crazy Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad, and Krang from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

As for other television shows and movies that we cover, there eggs of most of the young cast of Stranger Things, including Barb with an Upside-Down slug coming out of her mouth, Bernard and Dolores from HBO’s Westworld, Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones from Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, scene-stealing K-2SO from A Star Wars Story: Rogue One, and Moana and Maui from Disney’s blockbuster animated film.

Hardley also touched upon the numerous deaths. From the sports world, he includes eggs of basketball coach Pat Summitt, boxer Muhammad Ali, and reporter Craig Sager. From the acting world, he has eggs of Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher, Anton Yelchin, Mary Tyler Moore, and Bill Paxton. As for fictional characters, Game of Thrones‘ gentle giant Hodor and the resourceful Glenn from The Walking Dead got immortalized on their very own eggs.

From the land of politics, Hardley poked some fun at Trump’s administration with eggs of Sean Spicer and Kellyanne Conway. Even Hillary Clinton got an egg, but it shows her deep in the woods, thinking about how she got trumped by a reality-television star.

Though my favorite is how he put the Best Picture debacle at this year’s Oscars, involving La la Land and Moonlight, in egg form (watch the video above to see).

Which is your favorite egg? Let us know in the comment section!
