Throughout this election season in the United States, a large portion of the population has been crying out for a strong third party (Fourth party? Maybe fifth party?) candidate. HBO has decided to tap into that sentiment by offering Game of Thrones fans the opportunity to vote for the “GoT Party” candidate in a bit of marketing for the Game of Thrones Season 6 home media release.

Fans can vote daily for any of four potential party tickets. The nominees are:
- Daenerys Targaryen, the Breaker of Chains (with Tyrion Lannister), running on a platform freedom, unity between Westeros and Essos, female empowerment, dragon repopulation, and restoring her own divine right to the Seven Kingdoms.
- Jon Snow, the White Wolf (with Lyanna Mormont), running on a platform of Northern sovereignty, rebuilding the Night’s watch, allowing the Free Folk to settle the Gift, preparing for the Long Night, and reforming the laws of inheritance for illegitimate children.
- Cersei Lannister, the Lioness (with Qyburn), running on a pro trial by combat position, as well as the separation of church and crown, strengthening the family unit of Westeros, revising the line of succession, and bailing out the Iron Bank.
- Petyr Baelish, Lord Littlefinger (with Sansa Stark), on a platform of small business growth, reducing the kingdom’s debt to the Iron Bank, establishing diplomatic ties to the North, and improving transportation.
HBO is even offering a downloadable campaign kit with graphics for fans to create their own lawn signs, bumper stickers, and shirts. I suppose that’s one way to pass the time while waiting for the Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere.
Speaking of Game of Thrones Season 7, last month HBO confirmed that what we now know will be the series’ penultimate season will begin filming this summer, and will be shorter than previous seasons. Check out the Game of Thrones Season 7 teaser HBO released as Comic-Con.
