If there was ever any doubt that no one is safe on The Walking Dead, then this article should erase all doubt. The Walking Dead is actually getting rid of the one cast member that they were actually getting paid to include.
According to Variety, the plot direction of Season 5 of The Walking Dead has Rick and his group traveling on foot, which means no kiwi-green Hyundai Tucson. As much as that Hyundai was featured on The Walking Dead in the past several seasons, one would have thought Daryl Dixon would have become walker lunch far before the car would have disappeared from the storyline.

Fortunately, the executives at Hyundai appear to be taking the tragic loss rather well. Variety quotes Hyundai’s director of marketing communications David Matathia as saying, “”While we had a great run with The Walking Dead, the plot of the show changed and moved in such a way that the car ceased to have a role.”
Of course, the pain might be eased by the fact that a source familiar with the network says car advertisements will still be run during every commercial break. We wonder if the cast members got together and held a death dinner for the Hyundai like they do for other cast members who depart the show.
The Walking Dead Season 5 premieres on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 9 PM ET on AMC.
