Last week it seemed that the Power Rangers movie logo might be going away, but now it looks like that is not the case.

Last week the trademark for the Power Rangers movie logo was listed as abandoned, leading some to think that it was either getting replaced or a movie was on the backburner. In the days since the company has filed an application to have the logo trademark renewed, and if the process doesn't encounter any hitches (which none are expected), then the logo will be in Saban's hands once again.

A representative from Saban confirmed the renewal and provided some additional context. "Power Rangers continues to own and renew hundreds of trademark registrations worldwide, including for the 2017 movie logo. We confirm that, as part of our standard practice, we recently filed a new trademark application for the logo."

While it doesn't indicate that Saban is prioritizing a Power Rangers film at the moment, it also means they are keeping their options open, and that's always good news for fans.

Even without an announced movie project, Saban has plenty of projects to keep it busy. The current run of Power Rangers, Ninja Steel, is finishing up its season on Nickelodeon, while also teasing the follow-up season Power Rangers Ninja Steel that airs in 2018. The company also just launched Power Rangers Hyperforce, an interactive tabletop experience that airs on Hyper RPG's Twitch channel, which has been incredibly well received.

The franchise has also expanded to comics, and already has two successful comics under the BOOM! Studios umbrella. Both Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and GO GO Power Rangers have explored new aspects of the original series, and BOOM! is already teasing big things for next year, including a war event that will feature the return of Lord Drakkon.

There's plenty of things brewing in the Power Rangers universe, and hopefully, that will include a sequel somewhere down the line.

Power Rangers currently holds a 73.00 on's composite ranking, which you can vote on here.

Power Rangers is currently available on digital platforms, Blu-ray, and DVD.
