Star Wars: Rumored Han Solo Standalone Filming Locations Revealed

Rogue One is still dominating the box office – having just won its fouth consecutive weekend – and fans are already excited to look ahead at the franchise’s future films. In addition to Episode VIII slated to release this December, fans can look forward to the Han Solo Story, which is slated to hit theaters in 2018.

The film will dive into the legendary character Han Solo, and how he became the charming smuggler we all fell in love with in Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope. Alden Ehrenreich has been cast in the title role, and fan-favorite Donald Glover will play a young version of Lando Calrissian.

The Han Solo film might still be a while away, but the creative team at Lucasfilm is starting to figure out exactly where the movie will be shot.

According to a new rumor, those locations may have already been chosen.

The Spanish blog ElBlogDeCineEspanol has stated that the movie, directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, will film on the island of Fuerteventerua. The island is located off the coast of Africa, but is politically a part of Spain.

The report also states that parts of the movie will be filmed in Italy.

Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucasfilm, has already stated that the movie will begin filming next month.

Even though Han Solo is still almost two years away, fans couldn’t be any more excited to see it debut.
