Nick washes up on the shore, shirtless, with a bag of clothing and supplies tied to his foot. He crawls out of the water and collapses into the sand for a moment before a helicopter flies over him, revealing another chopper and a boat not very far away. Nick dresses himself and explores a base camp on the beach. Tents are everywhere but people are not. A walker is following him but he doesn't know it. He uses a water jug to make noise and distract the walkers. He doesn't kill them, though. He just walks by and locks himself into a tent. When te walker approaches, he intimately grabs its jaw before putting it doen with a knife to its head.

After gently laying the walker down, Nick cuts its stomach open and cover himself in its blood. He emerges from the tent, where a dog is wandering around, covered in guts.

Travis and Madison sit in their room on the yacht. Travis is very upset about Strand cutting the cord to Alex and Jake's boat. Travis wants to throw Strand overboard but Madison thinks they need him and what he has to offer. Travis is skeptical but Madison reminds Travis that Strand hasn't lied yet.

Chris and Ophelia sit above deck sharing some sodas. They talk a bit about Mexico and then relationships. Chris finally opens up a bit but reveals that when his mom moved him back to LA it didn't work out. Ophelia tells Chris she's made some bad decisions but had some fun. Chris gets a little upset but Ophelia assures him, he'll have plenty of time to make bad decisions and there are still girls on this planet. A small boat with three people on it rows toward the boat and Chris draws his gun. A pregnant woman and two men board the ship. Everyone wakes up and comes to see what's going including Strand.

Strand springs into action when he sees people board the ship. He runs to a safe and grabs a gun, saying, "Stupid paranoid fool," about whoever's gun it is. Alicia is curious about what's going on and listening to everything she can hear. She finds Jack and when she asks him if he is in fact Jack, Daniel asks, "What did you do?" The three people spring into action and take out Madison, Travis and the others. One young man, who now has a rifle, orders Alicia to tie up Daniel. Daniel is wondering how these people know their names. They see a man rowing towards their ship and gun him down, although Jack didn't want to.

A newscast shows off the Katrina flood. Strand sits at a bar, sipping neat whiskey from a glass, explaining that his father was a strip mall preacher and that he didn't know his mother. The man with him explains that his mother was absent, as well. They joke about Strand's tie before another drink is poured. The man tells Strand, he is here to buy. "When there's blood in the streets buy land," he says. Strand reveals that everything he owns is submerged and beyond salvage. He is bankrupt and has to begin again. The other man pities himself for having to deliver bad news in loyalty to business and his father. Strand calls the man an optimist for staying true to his work but the man insists he is a parasite.

Later, Strand helps the man to his room. He's very drunk. Strand takes the man's shoes off, gets him some water, and takes his jacket. Inside is the man's wallet. Strand takes the man's credit cards. The man says, "Maybe, I won't remember," but Strand shushes him and leaves.

In the middle of the ocean, Strand tries to salvage a walkie talkie.

Back on the boat, the young men toy with everyone. They press on Ophelia's wound and pistol whip Chris. They want the key to the boat and they're pointing a gun at Chris while asking for it. Travis breaks and tells him that he can start the boat without the keys because the man they shot was their captain and the only person with keys. Madison is brought into the room by the pregnant woman. The apparent leader of the group orders Jack to bring Alicia and go search the ship. Outside, she talks to Jack. He tells her he doesn't want to hurt anyone and insists that Connor is reasonable and will listen to him. He has to radio for him to come to the boat and then everything will be okay, or so he says.

On land, Nick wanders around and slips through a fence. He is looking for a certain address and walking the undead.

Flashback. Strand dismisses someone knocking at his hotel room door. He's robed and drinking some orange juice. It's the man whose credit cards he took and a bodyguard. The man looks at all of Strand's purchases and questions where all of the $36,000 Strand charged to his credit cards went. Strand claims that he plans to pay him back with interest but the man wants to discuss the details. Strand thanks him for the pardon but the man says, "I didn't pardon you. I obligated you."

In the water, Strand loses his radio and it slowly sinks.

On the ship, Travis tries to figure out how to start the ship. The young man with the gun is getting frustrated. Travis to explain himself and claims that he'll have to override the system from the engine room.

Madison and Daniel plot for a way to escape and take on the pregnant woman. Travis is escorted by. Madison distracts the woman by talking about her pregnancy. The woman reveals that she's having a girl but stops buying into the distraction.

Travis continues his ploy of trying to start the ship and hides a screwdriver in his sleeve.

Jack radios to Connor who is inbound and looking forward to meeting Alicia. Jack starts asking Alicia about the boat and herself. She asks about his girlfriend and then how many people came before her. She wants to know how many are still alive and Jack gets apologetic. Alicia starts to side with Jack, saying that they've done bad things on the boat. Jack wants her to come back but she'll have to leave her family behind. She isn't planning on doing that. Eventually, she convinces him to protect her and her family. He takes out a knife and cuts her loose. She hugs him in exchange.

Nick dribbles a basketball up the street before kicking it off to the side. He starts peeking into a house and even knocks on covered up door. The bodyguard from Strand's flashback approaches with a gun drawn. Nick asks him not to shoot and tells him that Strand sent him.

Moments later, the man is throwing bags into the trunk of a car. The man tells Nick that he has to wash up because he's not getting the inside of his car dirty.

Daniel is almost free. Madison continues her probing questions and distractions. Madison says that she lost a baby. It would've been a middle child. They start theorizing about a zombie baby inside the woman. Travis and the other young man arrive back at the room. He drops the tools in the chair behind Daniel before heading back upstairs.

Nick and Luis (the bodyguard) head towards the boat with lots of bags. The man says he only has enough supplies and money to get two people into Mexico, before revealing that he works for Thomas Abigail. His mother is out at the Baja house. Nick asks if it will be safe there and the man laughs as he uncovers a small boat. He's prepared.

Strand and Thomas sit outside and get served by Luis' mother. Strand turns his attention to business. Thomas doesn't want to have the conversation right now. Thomas tells Strand that this place makes him feel like the rest of the world has fallen away and they don't need it. The two hold hands and smile.

The young man on the boat tells Travis to start the boat as Connor is arriving. Connor gets on and questions what happened to Madison's head and is frustrated with the pregnant woman for not cleaning her up. Connor takes Alicia and Travis and leaves. The young man with the gun drinks some whiskey. Daniel frees himself as the young man criticizes Connor's weak stomach. Madison wants off the boat and to go to shore and offers the Abigail if they can just leave.

Nick and Luis notice the people on board the ship and Luis uses a rifle to gun down the enemies. Madison drives a spike through the young man and Chris goes beast mode on him. Luis and Nick board and Nick explains that Luis is okay. Luis claims that they do not cross into Mexico without Strand.

Flashback. Strand and Thomas argue. Thomas doesn't want Strand to go. Strand says he'll be back in two days. They kiss and Strand leaves.

In the water, Strand lets himself go from the raft and floats as Madison finally arrives to save him.
