The buzz around The Walking Dead is at an all-time high with less than two weeks until the Season 7 premiere reveals whose skull Negan smashed with Lucille.

Of course, the buzz doesn't come without six seasons of building characters for audiences to get attached to before breaking their hearts with death. Prior to the latest season, AMC will air a two-hour The Walking Dead special on Sunday, October 16.

In preparation for the upcoming special, the network has unveiled a sneak peek clip reminding us, already, of how far Rick's group has come since they were chopping up zombies in Atlanta and walking amongst the undead for the very first time.

Included in the sneak peek is Laurie Holden, the actress responsible for bringing Andrea to life for the first few seasons of the series. She is one of many Walking Dead alum to join the recap special on AMC next weekend. Also featured are writer/creator Robert Kirkman, Rick Grimes actor Andrew Lincoln and Glenn actor Steven Yeun.

The special, titled The Journey So Far, leads into the most anticipated episode of The Walking Dead to date. The AMC series has dominated both San Diego and New York Comic Con with billboards plastered across the events and panels earning both applause and screams of terror from audiences.

One week from the recap special, The Walking Dead's 66-minute Season 7 premiere will be followed by a 90-minute Talking Dead special with the entire cast from Negan's line-up, Negan himself, showrunner Scott Gimple and writer/creator Robert Kirkman.

The Walking Dead returns for its seventh season on October 23 at 9 p.m. ET on AMC. For complete coverage and insider info all season long, follow @BrandonDavisBD on Twitter.
