As we say “goodbye” to The Walking Dead Season 7, we say “goodbye” to a handful of characters, as well. Some of these characters have been with the zombie series since its earliest episodes while others were only introduced in the most recent episodes.
In the gallery below, a chart shows the characters who were alive and well to start The Walking Dead Season 7, with those who are still alive being featured in black and white, those who died being shaded with red, and those whose fates are left up in the air shaded with blue.
Season 7 of The Walking Dead was one of the deadliest in years. Following Season 6, which only killed a handful of lower tier faces, the show nearly over delivered on its “no one is safe” mantra. To start, the most recent batch of episodes killed both Glenn and Abraham. Eight episodes later, it would kill both Olivia and Spencer at the Alexandria Safe-Zone but also Fat Joey at the Sanctuary during Daryl’s escape.
The back half of season would let up a bit with the deaths but still managed to claim Sasha, Dr. Harlan Carson, and Savior creepshow David. Benjamin and Richard were also killed in the same Kingdom-centric episode late in the seaseon. Left missing after the season are Heath and Sherry, having vanished unexpectedly in different episodes with no explanation as to where they are or whether or not we will ever see them again.
Still very much alive are several newcomers to the series. Jadis and her junkyard crew and the Oceanside bunch seem to have come out of the season with the least losses, though not exactly unscathed.
