50 Cent's Newest Hit Series Gets Early Season 3 Renewal on Starz

50 Cent's BMF is coming back for Season 3 on Starz. The network announced the news this week and fans are celebrating on social media. Both BMF and Power have enjoyed sustained stints of excellence on the channel/streamer. Bringing the latest Curtis Jackson product back after a strong Season 2 only makes sense. According to Starz, the premiere of Season 2 on January 6 netted a 4 million viewer ratings number across all platforms. Crime drama has been a constant in the streaming landscape since its opening frame. The story of Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory fits right into that sweet spot of a true story that never had an adaptation of this scope before. Now, 50's drama will get yet another act to chronicle the rise and fall.

"BMF captures the essence of Detroit through elevated, gritty storytelling and our fans have passionately responded to this show more than ever before," said Kathryn Busby, president original programming at Starz. "Following such a strong debut with season two, we're thrilled to continue to expand on the incredible story of the Flenory brothers as they change the game by writing their own rules. We can't wait to see what our extraordinary producers and cast deliver next."

The Story of BMF So Far

Starz has a description for Season 2, if you're looking to get caught up: "BMF returns for a second hit season as it dramatizes the inspiring true story of two brothers, Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory (Demetrius Flenory, Jr.) and Terry "Southwest T" Flenory (Da'Vinchi), who rose from the decaying streets of southwest Detroit in the late '80s and gave birth to one of the most influential crime families in the country: Black Mafia Family. BMF, told with grit, heart, and humor, continues to humanize the choices of the brothers and their pursuit of the American Dream. Rooted in family, loyalty, and brotherhood, the series explores the brothers' complex relationships with their parents, Charles Flenory (Russell Hornsby) and Lucille Flenory (Michole Briana White), who seek counsel from their spiritual advisor, Pastor Swift (Snoop Dogg). 

"With every character fighting temptation all around them, we parachute into the season with Meech and Terry at odds. Meech wants to expand the business beyond Detroit, while Terry is focused on school and launching a legitimate car-ride service with his Pops. But as the season unfolds, the streets implode and the brothers reunite. Our heroes risk losing everything as they seek to become stronger than ever and strategically execute a new vision for themselves and their business."
