The Simpsons Season 36 has been officially added to Disney+, so all 18 episodes of the latest season are available to check out right now. This is the perfect time to catch up with what has happened with the animated series to this point if you missed it when it aired with Fox on a weekly basis last year, and you’re going to want to see it considering it had some big events that really sparked a lot of online conversations when the episodes were first airing.

What Happened in The Simpsons Season 36?

The Simpsons Season 36 had some of the biggest episodes in the animated series’ run for the last few years. It all started off with a premiere episode that teased what the actual series finale for the sitcom would look like, and ended with an episode that actually looked forward into a potential future and revealed what the Simpsons family could look like 30 years down the road. It was a big season with lots of things that happened, and it was surely a surprise to watch week to week thanks to how much these stories really shook up the characters.

The Simpsons Season 36 was a monumental season of the series that not only experimented with the characters during its main episodes, but also did some fun things outside of them as well. There was a second Treehouse of Horror event episode that adapted classic Rad Bradbury stories, and the Treehouse of Horror XXXV special showcased some stop motion animation (from the same studio behind Robot Chicken) in a rather cool way. If you’re wondering what episodes in particular to watch, check out “Bart’s Birthday,” “Convenience Airways,” “The Man Who Flew Too Much” and “Estranger Things.”

The Simpsons is planning a full takeover of Disney+ for the spooky Halloween season too. Not only did it all all of Season 36’s episodes from last year, but there’s going to be a new FAST streaming channel dedicated to the animated series as well. โ€œTreehouse of Horrorsโ€ is going to be a new 24/7 streaming channel that will be streaming all Treehouse of Horror specials in order for the first real time. This will include the latest from Season 36 as well, so it’s going to be the best way to check out the spooky specials for the holidays.

The Simpsons Season 37 has also kicked off its run with Fox on Sunday evenings with the premiere episode airing over the weekend. This is the first new season of a major four season renewal with Fox as their adult animated shows will be continuing for a long time to come.
