King of the Hill’s Revival Has the Perfect Chance to Bring Back One of Hank & Peggy’s Best Stories

King of the Hill is back in action with a new revival series with Hulu, and is now offered the fun opportunity to finally revisit one of the best Hank and Peggy stories from the original series. King of the Hill returned for a new season of episodes fifteen years after the original broadcast run with Fox came to an end, and surprised both classic and new fans watching with just how much had changed since fans had seen all of these characters last. It’s been nearly ten years for Hank Hill and the others, and their lives are much different now.

King of the Hill has yet to officially announce whether or not the revival will be continuing with another season with Hulu, but if it does continue there’s a great opportunity for a major follow up. Hank and Peggy once thought about what their retirement years would look like and planned to buy a set of motorcycles to then travel around the United States. It was such a fun idea that now with the two of them actually retired in the series itself, it’s the perfect time to follow Hank and Peggy on this kind of trip at least once.

In the King of the Hill Season 7 episode, “Queasy Rider,” Hank and Peggy were dealing with some friction in their marriage as the two couldn’t see eye to eye. Visiting a marriage counselor as a result, the two of them reveal their dreams for retirement included the two of them buying a set of motorcycles and leisurely traveling around the United States in their later years. The counselor then suggests that the two of them instead use their savings to buy one of the motorcycles they had saved up for, and travel together in the meantime.

This led to even more friction between the two of them as Peggy wanted to drive the bike more, but Hank refused to give it up (as he felt like he would look like less of a man when seen by other drivers). But after this episode, the motorcycle isn’t ever brought up again let alone seen again. Hilariously, that was until King of the Hill Season 14 as the photo of Peggy on the motorcycle shown towards the end of that Season 7 episode was one of the photos that Bill had been using to pretend that Peggy was his wife. Which brings up more questions about the motorcycle itself.

It’s Time to Bring Back the Missing Motorcycle

This small sight gag in King of the Hill Season 14 once again affirms that Hank and Peggy at least once had a motorcycle, but now would be the perfect time to revisit the idea. Much of their struggle in the new episodes was how they were both having trouble adjusting to the fact that they no longer have constant work to fill their lives, so it would be great for the two of them to at least have an episode where they do get to travel around the United States a little bit more.

It was such a fun potential future for the Hills that fans could have imagined following the end of the original run, but it’s a different case now that we’re actually seeing this future life take place. The revival has made a lot of care as to how it’s referenced big moments from the original series, and this could go a long way towards further tying the threads together. Rather than being just a fun one-off idea that was never revisited again, it could be the way to ease Hank and Peggy’s retirement woes in just a small way in a future season.
