The superhero genre has grown even more popular over the last few years, and its influence can certainly be felt in the WWE. Many superstars have expressed interest in playing one on film, and The Miz has two he’d love to try.

In an interview with Uproxx for his film Marine 5: Battleground, Miz was asked what he would want to do if he could do any project for WWE studios. His first choice was taken, so Miz went for a non-mainstream hero for his second choice. “Yeah, I mean a lot of the main ones are kind of taken. I’ve always wanted to play Booster Gold. Do you know who he is? So that would be pretty fun.”
Booster Gold is a hero from the 25th century who comes back to the 20th century to help his career in heroics. Being that he can look up what happened in the future, he can directly affect the past, and he uses it to his advantage whenever possible. Armed with his force bolts and his handy companion Skeets (who is a great foil to the sometimes egotistical hero), this would be a perfect fit for the sarcastic Miz. Seriously, someone needs to make this happen, and soon.
His first choice though comes from the house of ideas, Marvel. “My dream project? I mean, I think anyone’s dream project right now is how amazing the Marvel/DC comic book era is really coming together and really blowing up the scene. Anytime you have a movie, it’s breaking records, it’s doing great things, so obviously I’d want a Marvel character.”
As for who he wants to play? “Obviously, Deadpool is already taken and Ryan Reynolds did an absolutely fantastic job. That was always my dream role ever since I saw the video game seven years ago, I was like “Oh my god, I want to play this guy!” But, Ryan Reynolds took it and knocked it out of the park and did an absolutely incredible job, so I can’t fault him at all. But I think anyone would want to do Marvel or DC, maybe WWE can combine with them and do something, but you never know.”
Miz has been impersonating some other superstars on television lately, including John Cena and Daniel Bryan. Now that he’s on RAW, he was asked if more was in the future. “Oh, you want more Total Bellas BS, don’t you? I don’t know. You never know what’s going to happen. That’s the best part about being a WWE Superstar and being a part of Monday night Raw, it’s live. You never know what’s going to happen and when it’s gonna happen. But when it does, you want to be there to watch it to see it live. So that’s why I love Mondays.”
Marine 5: Battleground is available on digital outlets and on Blu-ray now.
