Check Out This R2-D2 Inspired Lightsaber Hilt

If you've ever wondered what an R2-D2 inspired lightsaber would look like then look no further. The guys over at Saber Forge decided to pay homage to the adorable robot by crafting a custom lightsaber hilt based on R2-D2's iconic appearance.

Posting a photo to their Facebook, Saber Forge told fans the hilt was called 'Frost Lotus,' and that it had the following specs: "Interchangeable blue lit acrylic claws, highly detailed crystal chamber with four windows, polished crystal holders, and 8 support rods. Powder coated white body with silver accents. Custom quad cree frost blue led *2x white 2x deep blue dies*"

With over 400 likes, fans have flooded the page to ask if the hilt is for sale or to just simply let Saber Forge know they love the piece. Clearly, the hilt's blue-and-white color scheme is reminiscent of R2-D2's body coloring, and the grip's ribbing and buttoning mirrors the robot's features as well.

If you're truly desperate to get your hands on the lightsaber, you'll likely have to wait until Saber Forge makes it available for regular purchase. However, the company does have other pieces for sale, and they're currently holding a Christmas in July special. Until July 31st, customers who purchase orders will receive $10 off. If you spend over $500, you'll even be able to redeem a coupon for a free Apprentice Saber. Most importantly, though, customers who spentd over $100 will be entered for a chance to win the Legacy Frost Lotus Crystal Lightsaber.

So, if you've got some money to burn and an inkling to buy a hardcore Star Wars saber, now might be a great time to make the investment - especially if you've got a soft spot for R2-D2. But, then again, who doesn't?
