Gotham is finally on its way back!

After a couple months of being kept in the dark, FOX has finally told fans just when Gotham is making its return to TV. The Batman prequel series will debut its spring premiere on Thursday, March 1 at 8pm ET.

The network made the announcement on the official Gotham Twitter account. You can check out the tweet below.

While many of the other superhero shows returned last week, Gotham was running on a slightly different schedule. Gotham is returning in March with a lot of the other shows on network television.

Along with the announcement, FOX released a new teaser for the upcoming Gotham episodes, and all hell is breaking loose. You can watch the full teaser in the video above.

Earlier in the week, star David Mazouz had this to say about the new episodes, teasing a major war on the horizon:

"Oh yeah, that basically is the second half of Season 4." Mazouz said. "Essentially all of the villains on the show, all the terrifying ones at least, will team up. It will basically be the Justice League of Gotham villains. They're gonna basically terrorize the city over the next 11 episodes. All the good guys are gonna have a part in taking them down, because there are just so many of them. Of course it's spearheaded by the man that posted it himself, Jerome. Everybody is involved, somehow, in this massive fight against this band of villains. It's so cool. I loved every single time I got a script these past couple of months. It's so cool, the idea of everybody teaming up like that."

Gotham returns to FOX on Thursday, March 1 at 8pm ET.
