The new trailer for The Last of Us Part II was a lot to take in, but some viewers have looked past the violence to find clues that lend more credibility to the idea that the game takes place in Seattle.

Back in August, the theory began circulating that The Last of Us Part II would take place in Washington state, more specifically in Seattle. While it was just an idea, it had some pretty strong evidence backing it up that came from a teaser trailer that was released around that time. A vigilant fan of The Last of Us pieced together clues related to the game's setting and posted them on Reddit, and several months later with a new trailer now released, the same Redditor, Voldsby, is back with more evidence that solidifies the theory even further.

Voldsbyposted his new findings to the subreddit for The Last of Us as well as the PlayStation 4 subreddit with new side-by-side comparisons of more connections that those familiar with Seattle might be able to piece together. Towards the beginning of the trailer, you'll notice some road signs while the woman is being pulled through the post-apocalyptic setting. By matching the yellow and green signs up with their real-world settings that can be seen below and in greater detail through the Reddit post, they appear to line up perfectly with a location in Seattle.

Going even deeper into the trailer that's shown at the top, you'll notice that a busted-up police car is shown towards the very end. Comparing that brief look at the car to a Seattle Police Department car will result in even more similarities being observed.

Along with the location, there are other theories that have been circulating about The Last of Us Part II, such as the identity of the woman that's being hung. Whoever she might be and wherever the sequel to The Last of Us takes place – it certainly looks like Seattle after all this evidence – burying these leads amid all the violence that so many were swept away by is the perfect way to hide hints.
