Weapon X has never been content to just leave things be, and after all these years that same pursuit has not changed. This time though they're not just going after Wolverine, who is Old Man Logan these days, but they are assembling a team of some of the deadliest mutants in the Marvel Universe, and it all starts in Weapon X #1.
In ComicBook.com's exclusive preview of the anticipated issue, Logan can be seen right after a throw down with some of the organization's soldiers. While they couldn't bring in Wolverine, they did manage to secure a piece of him, and that sits in a containment unit right next to the currently captive Lady Deathstrike. Their goals don't stop there though, as containers are shown for several other mutants as well. You can view the exclusive preview in the gallery.
Writer Greg Pak has had a ball writing Wolverine and Sabertooth, telling Marvel "It’s a blast. You’ve got an older Logan, who’s been through a whole different set of experiences teaming up with this Sabretooth he doesn’t really know. It’s always fun to have these two characters tangle with each other, particularly when they have to team up for any amount of time. But this time, you have the added dynamic of an older, wiser—well, potentially wiser, anyway—Wolverine teaming up with a younger Sabretooth. They’re a blast to write together; you can put those two characters together and fun things will just happen. They’re so similar, and yet have different ways for dealing with the world and totally different sets of morals and ethics. So for them to find common ground and fight alongside each other instead of against each other, it’s a fun challenge."
Weapon X #1 is written by Greg Pak with art by Greg Land, who also provided the first issue's cover. You can find the official description of the issue below.
