Marvel Studios just released Thor: Ragnarok, but it's never too early to get hyped for the next installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Movie theater standees for Black Panther are out in the wild, and we have our first look courtesy of a fan on Reddit:
The standee is similar to the batch of the newly released character posters that put the spotlight on the film's cast of characters, including newly appointed Wakandan king T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman), T'Challa's protective sister, Shuri (Letitia Wright), their regal mother, Ramonda (Angela Bassett), fierce warrior and T'Challa's bodyguard, Okoye (Dania Gurira), security chief W'Kabi (Daniel Kaluuya), adviser Zuri (Forest Whitaker), adversary M'Baku (Winston Duke), rival Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan), new enemy Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) and CIA operative Everett Ross (Martin Freeman).
The display piece also offers a fresh look at T'Challa's new costume, which glows purple and is even more catlike than the suit the king-to-be first repped in Captain America: Civil War. Marvel Studios previously unveiled a closer look at T'Challa's updated suit during San Diego Comic Con.
Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther” follows T’Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T’Challa’s mettle as king—and Black Panther—is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.
Directed by Ryan Coogler (Fruitvale Station, Creed), Marvel Studios' Black Panther drops February 16.
