'Ant-Man and the Wasp' Wraps Production

That's a wrap on Marvel's upcoming summer adventure, Ant-Man and the Wasp!

In the early hours of Monday morning, director Peyton Reed took to Twitter to announce that the sequel had completed its filming stage of production.

"That's a wrap," Reed tweeted to his followers after what was likely a very late night shooting Sunday night. This ends a three and a half month shot, as production officially kicked off in the beginning of August.

The stars of the film have been teasing the end of production for some time. Earlier this month, Walton Goggins revealed that filming for his part had been completed by posting a photo from the set with his young son behind the camera.

Last week, Evangeline Lilly, who has played Hope Van Dyne in both Ant-Man films, teased the end of production. The actress posted a photo with her "Wasp Squad" on Twitter, announcing that the film was days away from wrapping.

Now that Ant-Man is done shooting, it will head into an extensive period of post production. If you watched the first movie, you know that the franchise requires an enormous amount of special effects.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is set to hit theaters on July 6, 2018, making it the third Marvel film to arrive next year. Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War will both debut earlier in the year.
