In a new preview of what movies are coming this fall that fans should look forward to, Yahoo! Movies shared an all-new image of Rey on Ahch-To from The Last Jedi. This isn't the first look at the character's training in the film, but the structure she's standing next to rules out theories that Yoda might participate in that training.
Immediately after the very first teaser for The Last Jedi screened at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year, fans began analyzing each and every frame to try to discover any clues about the upcoming film that the teaser contained.
Many shots of the teaser showed Rey training on Ahch-To with Luke, with the implication that the Jedi attempted to hone Rey's abilities in a way similar to how Yoda helped Luke on Dagobah. Considering these thematic similarities, fans were already in the mindset of comparing the upcoming film to The Empire Strikes Back, with eagle-eyed viewers noticing a perplexing silhouette.

A wide shot of Rey showed her with a lightsaber extended near a large rock formation, with a top section that looked quite similar to Yoda's small profile. The Star Wars saga has often shown audiences that death doesn't stop a Jedi from interacting with the living, so it wouldn't have been completely unbelievable for Yoda to make an appearance.
This new photo, however, quite clearly shows that shape of the rock formation Rey trained near, solidifying the theory about Yoda was incorrect.
While deceased Jedi have made their presences known in a variety of situations, they've only done so in appearance and not in a corporeal form, which was another reason this silhouette most likely wasn't Yoda.
We'll see how training for Rey goes when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15th.
