Two key sequences that they worked on were Max Dillon (Jamie Foxx) and Harry Osborn’s (Dane DeHaan) transformations into Electro and the Green Goblin.
Here’s an excerpt from Post Magazine:
A key turning point in the movie is Max’s transformation into Electro. For this scene, MPC (Moving Picture Company) used footage of a stuntman falling into the tank for the impact, and close-up references of Jamie Foxx’s face, and then roto animated a digital double of Foxx in the tank. CG electric eels were created and blended with electricity effects, bubbles and froth. For Harry Osborn’s transformation into the Green Goblin, the actor’s body was roto animated and pulsing veins were added, along with animated growing nails and teeth.

It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
