Last night, the Arrow Season Four trailer dropped, and man was it packed.

There was a lot to process, and we’re still kind of digging around looking for what’s next. But there’s a visceral reaction to something like this — you can generally tell when something feels like it’s working and not, even before you put too much thought into it.
And there were more than a few fist-pumping moments in the first trailer for the new season.
What got us excited? Read on…
Green Arrow’s costume unveiled
After Laurel comes to Oliver and Felicity to tell them that Team Arrow needs his help, a reluctant Oliver returns to Star City…where, apparently, Felicity already has a snazzy new costume ready, waiting, and covered in a tarp for special occasions like grand unveilings.
Apparently, civilian life must have been kind of boring for Felicity, who has just been waiting for the moment she could surprise everybody with this cool new present.
Okay, that’s fair.
John Constantine
Introduced by stamping out a cigarette, Matt Ryan returns as John Constantine.
The fan-favorite actor from last year’s cancelled-too-soon DC Comics adaptation will join the series for an episode this year and hopefully a little more down the line.
We got very, very little of Ryan’s Constantine here…but even just the moment he popped up onscreen was enough for me to say, “Okay, we got Constantine. I’m happy.”
Felicity and Curtis Holt
Rather than picking a single moment that stuck out, let’s just say that this relationship was a high point of the trailer.
We got to see Curtis, who seems like a fun, likable character in the mold of who Felicity was in Season One — maybe a bit nervous and bumbling — and the way he’s bouncing off our new, more confident and badass Felicity (more on that later) was a huge win.
And…T-SPHERE! Mr. Terrific may be a long ways off (it seems that way based on how edgy and nervous Curtis is, anyway), but his technology will apparently be making its way to Team Arrow this season.
The battle for Sara
We’ve known for a while that there would be bad blood between Nyssa Raatko and Malcolm Merlyn this season; after all, Merlyn did kill the love of her life, and only those of us on the outside looking in, knew that Sara would be back sooner than later.
And so seeing them coming to blows soon is a good thing. We’re excited to see how this comes out — although my money would be on Nyssa in a fight, which raises the question of just how the new Ra’s al Ghul survives this encounter.
We’re guessing it has something to do with that KICK-ASS shot of Sara rising up out of the Lazarus Pit a little later.
Felicity the Badass
There are largely two camps of Arrow fans at this point: those who want to see more of “Olicity” and those who want to see less.
So it’s likely people will think we’re “picking sides” by not including those first, Olicity-heavy seconds of the trailer on here.
Not so (and trust me, nobody thinks Emily Bett Rickards looked more adorable sitting on the counter than me). The fact is, we already knew how the season was going to start, and so you don’t have any element of surprise. If they’d shown a wedding dress or something, then it would have been a real “wow” moment, but as-is, it was just a few seconds of sweet, cute, exactly-what-we-expected setup before Team Arrow apparently comes looking for them.
Felicity’s action-hero turn, though? That’s just unexpected enough to be really fun to watch, and especially seeing her bounce off of Holt was worth the wait.
And, really, let’s be clear on something: Felicity put a supervillain on his ass. With one kick. While wearing heels.
