A new variant cover for Bloodshot USA #1 debuting at Alamo City Comic Con will show off a fresh look at Jason David Frank as the character in Ninjak vs. the Valiant Universe. The series, which had its official debut announcement at New York Comic Con last week, won’t premiere until 2017, but continues to get some promotion ahead of Valiant Digital’s web series.

The variant is from Heroes and Fantasies, and exclusive to the convention. It shows Frank as Bloodshot, ready with a weapon for some action. The second look comes after his debut on another variant cover – so expect more of these preview images over the course of the next year as more of the Valiant Universe is shown off via comic covers before they come to life. Bloodshot U.S.A. comes from Jeff Lemire and Doug Braithwaite, and features all of New York City being infected by Bloodshot nanites. Yikes.

Valiant took the opportunity to announce their panels at the Alamo City Comic Con as well, with a “Valiant 101: New Fans Start Here” panel Friday October 28 at 4pm in room 225D, and “Valiant: The Future of Valiant and Beyond” on Saturday October 29 at 4pm.

Check out the new look at Jason David Frank as Bloodshot below, along with the original first image released. Frank, who starred as Tommy the Green Ranger on Power Rangers, has been promoting the new series with aplomb and clear excitement over the role. He’ll square off against Michael Rowe as Ninjak and more in the series, which promises to live up to its title with virtually the entire Valiant Universe involved.

Ninjak vs. The Valiant Universe is produced by Aaron & Sean Schoenke of Bat in the Sun Productions (Super Power Beat Down) and written by Aaron Schoenke, Sean Schoenke, and Joe Harris. Ninjak Vs. The Valiant Universe stars Michael Rowe (Arrow, The Flash) as Colin King, a.k.a. Ninjak; Jason David Frank (Power Rangers) as Bloodshot; John Morrison (WWE, Lucha Underground) as the Eternal Warrior; Chantelle Barry (90210, Entourage) as Roku; Kevin Porter (Dodgeball) as Armstrong; Ciera Foster (Two and a Half Men) as Livewire, and Derek Theler (Baby Daddy) as X-O Manowar.. The series will be produced by Dinesh Shamdasani, Josh Johns, and Gavin Cuneo for Valiant Entertainment.
