Ryan Reynolds Comments on Logan Trailer

The first trailer for Logan, the third Wolverine movie, dropped this morning, and everyone is talking about it. Whether you're excited to see X-23 for the first time on the big screen, thrilled with the appearance of Hugh Jackman as an old man Logan, or just been rocking out to Johnny Cash's cover of "Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails all day, you're probably excited for the movie. But you're probably not as excited as Ryan Reynolds, who has been taking to twitter to talk about his feelings on the film.

"Inject this film directly into my face immediately," Reynolds wrote, suddenly becoming all of us. It's not the first time the social media maven has supported the film. He's retweeted a couple of the teaser images, including the poster "That's my hand holding Logan's in the new poster" he joked, and the first shot of the elder Logan appeared on his twitter account, too.

The actor jumped feet first into the world of twitter and the promotional marketing machine with Deadpool, a film he took part in as not just the star, but as a member of the writing team, a producer, and even had a hand in getting it made in the first place. When the movie's special effects test reel was leaked, Reynolds, who had already been pushing for the film for years after appearing as a... different version of the character alongside Hugh Jackman in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, pushed that much harder. The film got made in a large part because of the internet response - and went on to become the highest grossing film in the X-Men series in worldwide and domestic gross.

Like Deadpool, Logan is looking to an R rating, leaving the film unencumbered to be violent and vicious, and if the trailer is any indication, as full of emotional weight as it is berserker rages (or maybe moreso).

As for the dream of seeing Reynolds' "proper" Deadpool on screen with Jackman's Wolverine? Sadly, it's probably just a dream - this movie is Jackman's last in the role according to all parties involved. At least we got that brief moment in Deadpool with the mask.

Logan hits theaters next March. Reynolds, meanwhile, is working on Deadpool 2 for a January 2018 release. While the movie won't likely have Wolverine in it, the sequel will include Cable, the time-hopping mutant (and fellow creation of Rob Liefeld and co-creator Fabian Nicieza) that frequently teams with Deadpool in the pages of Marvel Comics.
