If you have been waiting for Rick and Morty to make its long-awaited comeback, then wonder no longer! Co-creator Justin Roiland has confirmed when Rick and Morty‘s third season will finally drop, and the raunchy series is set to return on July 30th.

Tonight, the announcement about Rick and Morty went live during a special livestream for the series. The Adult Swim website promised fans some big news about the animated show would be delivered during the event, and the network did not lie.

“We did it,” Roiland told a cheering crowd as he revealed the show’s release date. “We f*cking did it!”

Roiland made the announcement with the show’s team by his side. Fellow co-creator Dan Harmon was there to celebrate the news. For some fans, the fact that the two men appeared chummy was enough cause to party; Reports began to circulate that Roiland and Harmon’s work relationship had deteriorated as season three continued to be delayed. However, the creators took time to knock those reports down.

“When you ask us ‘Where’s season three?’ and I say that they’re drawing it, I literally mean that we took too long writing it and now they’re drawing it,” Harmon explained.

Sadly, no new episode for Rick and Morty was previewed during the event. Fans had hoped the livestream may contain a special episode like the one previewed this year on April Fool’s Day. However, according to Roiland, that release was a one-time-only “magical day” ordeal.

When season three drops, Rick and Morty will return with 10 total episodes. Harmon did hint a fourth season is a possibility, but the creator wants to focus on Rick and Mortys most immediate releases.

Rick and Morty is Adult Swim‘s most scientifically accurate animated comedy. Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon, it catalogues the bizarre misadventures of a bored scientific genius/drunkard and his socially awkward grandson, Morty. Their exploits tend to have unintended consequences for Morty’s dysfunctional family, especially his unfailingly mediocre father, Jerry. Watch Rick and Morty battle everything from interdimensional customs agents to Cronenberg monsters.

The cast features Justin Roiland as both Rick Sanchez and his grandson, Morty; Sarah Chalke as Rick’s daughter, Beth; Chris Parnell as Rick’s son-in-law and Beth’s husband, Jerry; and Spencer Grammer as Rick’s granddaughter and Beth and Jerry’s daughter, Summer.
