New 'Shonen Jump' Exhibit Pays Homage to the 90s

Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and is opening an exhibit celebrating all of your favorite series from the 90s.

This exhibition is the second part (as the first half celebrated series that ran in the 80s), of their 50th Anniversary celebration. It features many notable titles like Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball Z, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Slam Dunk.

The exhibit will debut at Roppongi Hills complex's Tokyo Mori Arts Center Gallery March 19 under the name of "Sokan 50 Shunen Kinen Shukan Shonen Jump-ten Vol. 2 1990 Nendai, Hakko Busu 653-Man-bu no Shogeki" which roughly translates to "50th Anniversary of Weekly Shonen Jump's First Issue Exhibition Vol. 2: 1990s, Impact of 6.53 Million Copies in Print," according to Anime News Network.

A theater will run special videos and the exhibit will be featured until June 2018. Part one of the exhibit celebrating series of the 80s will run from September 2018.

Unfortunately, the series creator of Rurouni Kenshin was arrested on child pornography charges and Shuiesha expressed great regret over this. The publisher is taking the matter very seriously and is still trying to figure out what it's going to do with the currently in print volumes of Rurouni Kenshin. The series will still be featured in the exhibited unless announced otherwise.
