Marvel is getting a new anime this summer based off of the classic superheroes fans know and love. The show is titled Marvel Future Avengers and will reunite Iron Man’s anime director and Madhouse studios. This week the show revealed some new information, showing off the cast, staff, and the premiere date. The show is set to premier on July 22 worldwide, and the official website has released some information on the story and characters fans will be seeing.

It looks like the anime will be featuring all of the Avengers favorites such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and more. The cast stars:

  • Eiji Hanawa as Iron Man
  • Kazuhiro Nakaya as Captain America
  • Yasuyuki Kase as Thor
  • Kenichirou Matsuda as Hulk
  • Kaori Mizuhashi as Wasp
  • Aki Kanada as Makoto
  • Atsushi Tamaru as Adi
  • Juri Kimura as Kuroe

The cast was revealed as well and will feature Yuzo Sato as the director at Madhouse studio. Japanese writer Ryuu King will be in charge of the scriptwriting, and Takahiro Umehara will be doing character design.

According to the anime’s official website, the show follows a young boy named Makoto, who gains superpowers due to an evil gene manipulation experiment. Makoto and other young kids with powers join the Avengers as apprentices named “Future Avengers.” The anime shows Makoto and his friends as they train, fight villains and grow, under Avengers members Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, and Wasp.

There is also a manga version being debuted in Shogakukan’s Bessatsu Coro Coro Comics Special magazine’s April issue as well. The manga is being drawn by Teruaki Mizuno and no word has been announced on how long it will run.

Marvel has teamed up with Madhouse in the past to create the Iron Man, Wolverine, X-Men, and Blade television anime series. All four series aired globally, as it was shown on G4 television channel in the United States, and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment also went on to release all four series on DVD in North America in 2012.
