Dragon Ball fans have got to give it up for Android 17. The villain-turned-hero never did get his full due back in Dragon Ball Z. The fighter was strong, but he slunk into the shadows after the whole Cell debacle was done. These days, Dragon Ball Super has redeemed 17's legacy, but that does not mean he is invincible.

After all, if the show's synopses are right, then the android will not be in the Tournament of Power for much longer.

In the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, fans got an inside look at the show's next episode. You can read the spoiler-friendly blurb for "A Looming Obstacle! Pinning Hope on a Final Barrier!!" below:

"Android 17's do-or-die actions!! The injured No. 17 helps out Goku and Vegeta as they battle Jiren! No. 17 uses a life-risking strategy to support Goku and co. against Jiren's overwhelming power!!"

As you can see, the synopsis focuses plenty on 17 and his bit in the next episode. The android will step between Jiren and his Saiyan comrades when the pair get injured in battle. 17 will use a risky technique to support the pair, and the episode's preview seems to hint at what the strategy will be.

As you can see above, the preview for episode 127 shows 17 using a barrier in its final moments. The hero seems to be protecting Goku and Vegeta from a blast sent by Jiren. With two comrades to protect, 17 may choose to eliminate himself from the Tournament of Power if it means Goku and Vegeta live on. After all, the two are the only ones who stand a chance against Jiren, and they do not have much time left to take him out.

Dragon Ball Super's "Universal Survival" arc is part of the recent simulcast agreement that sites like Crunchyroll and Funimation have scored. DragonBall Super airs on Crunchyroll Saturday evenings at 7:15 p.m. CST. Adult Swim airs the English dub during its Toonami block Saturday evenings at 9:30 p.m, and is now available to stream on FunimationNOW and Amazon Video.
