Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia premiered with a one-hour special broadcast, which was broken into two episodes on the streaming service as viewers learn about Sitara, the protagonist of the series. The anime finally premiered its English dub on July 18th, 2026. While the story is taking shape in the initial episodes, the new main visual highlights the central characters. However, while the anime is ongoing, the official website came up with a new strategy to help fans engage with the series.

After each episode, the character guides are being released to help viewers navigate the show’s complex 13th-century political landscape. They help summarize the flow of the story by explaining historical figures, character motivations, and how their backgrounds influence the political intrigue of the story. The anime features a complex cast of historical characters around Sitara.
Beneath the exceptionally gorgeous animation style, the series is much more complex and nuanced as it tackles some dark themes of war and slavery. The story takes place in the 13th-century Mongol Empire, where a young girl named Sitara was chased out of her homeland after the death of her mother and ended up in a slave market. She was eventually picked up by a kind family of scholars who encouraged her to learn everything she could.
However, after spending several years with them in peace, her life came crashing down when the Tus Militia fell at the hands of the Nomads. It didn’t take long for homes and lives to be destroyed by the Nomads, forcing Sitara away from her home yet again. Following the tragedy, Sitara’s destiny begins to change as the story centers around her journey, where she later becomes known as the Witch of Mongolia for her advanced intellectual mastery of medicine and geometry.
Jaadugar: A Witch in Mongolia Is A Must-Watch For Anime Fans
The series has one of the most unique animation styles ever, as it perfectly does justice to the art style of the manga. Thanks to Inu-Oh and Heike Monogatari, the animation studio is famous for blending historical settings with a hand-drawn aesthetic and fluid movements. The animation in this anime surpasses even those acclaimed classics, and it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say it’s by far the best series from the studio.
The gorgeous adaptation is to be expected considering that the anime has an impressive staff with several industry veterans contributing to this gorgeous project. Naoko Yamada, the director of the award-winning movie A Silent Voice, is serving as the general director, while Abel Gongora is the anime director.
