Anna Paquin as Rogue

Anna Paquin is confirmed to be appearing as Rogue in X-Men: Days of Future Past, though in a much smaller capacity than originally intended, according to BuzzFeed.Director Bryan Singer had previously state, in December, that Paquin’s scene was cut from X-Men: Days of Future Past because, while the scene itself was solid, it was ultimately “extraneous” to the film’s plot.Despite this, Paquin’s name was included in the credits at the end of the final trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past, released last night. According to a representative for Twentieth Century Fox, Paquin is definitely in the film, but, instead of having a set piece action scene, her role has been reduced to “essentially, a cameo.”Singer has already said that, while he felt the scene needed to go, he hoped that it would be included as a deleted scene with the X-Men: Days of Future Past home entertainment release. Maybe, if Rogue fans are lucky, we’ll even get an extended cut of the film with the action scene put back in its proper place. In X-Men: Days of Future Past, the X-Men send Wolverine to the past in a desperate effort to change history and prevent an event that results in doom for both humans and mutants.X-Men: Days of Future Past comes to theaters May 23.
