Actor Harrison Ford just had big news last week, that he’ll be returning to a beloved character with Lucasfilm and Disney – but this time it’s Indiana Jones. With that on the horizon, and Star Wars: The Force Awakens home release just around the corner, Ford did a Q&A with tumblr and EW.com.

The biggest response he gave was after a question about the end of Force Awakens and his character, the beloved Han Solo, dying.

“I think it’s a fitting use of the character,” Ford wrote. “I’ve been arguing for Han Solo to die for about 30 years, not because I was tired of him or because he’s boring, but his sacrifice for the other characters would lend gravitas and emotional weight.”

Ford famously argued for Solo to die in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, so it’s not surprising that three decades of time off from the character and franchise didn’t change his tune.

As for Ford’s future, well, he has Indiana Jones 5 to look forward to, and he’s open to other new opportunities. For example, he was asked about doing a voice acting role, and said, “I’d love it. Waiting for a good fit.”

Maybe we can at least hear his Han Solo once more, even if we won’t see him again on the big screen.
