
Allen, over at Sufficiently Advanced, likes to make things that you wouldn’t think possible and is quite good at it. If you don’t remember, he also made a version of Mjolnir that only he could carry, so he’s established he likes to think outside the box.

His latest project involved creating an actual ice sword, but as he shows in the video, making a sword out of just ice isn’t really possible, unless your name happens to be Bobby Drake. He instead used a compound element named Pykrete, which is a combination of sawdust and ice. This makes it infinitely more solid, and the sword won’t shatter upon impact the first time you try to use it.
I have to give it to him, the video is wildly entertaining, and I actually learned a thing or two. Plus, he actually managed to pull it off, complete with LED lights and enough power to cut a watermelon straight in half. You can watch the video to see the entire process.
