That’s right: Somebody on the Lego Ideas website is trying to get a Mystery Science Theater 3000 Lego set made, and just in time for new episodes hitting Netflix later this year!

The elaborate set not only includes minifigs for most of the series’ major characters, including the villains and BOTH protagonists, but also a main set that goes several layers deep, aping the beloved “opening doors” sequence to the credits, and ending with a movie screen, the shadows of the test subject and the Bots projected up on the bottom right.

Lego Ideas is an official site operated by Lego, but populated by pitches from everyday people. If an idea submitted through the Lego Ideas site gets 10,000 supporters, Lego will consider making it. Recent successes submitted to the page include sets for Ghostbusters and Back to the Future.

The MST3K set was apparently submitted in May, and has 6,500 of the necessary 10,000 supporters already on board. If you’d like to see it get made for real, head on over there and vote with your…vote.

Here’s how the creator, known as JMaster, describes the set:

In the not-too-distant future, next Sunday A.D… there could be a LEGO set based on one of the most iconic TV shows of all time! Mystery Science Theater 3000, or MST3K for short, is a show about a guy who gets shot into space by mad scientists and is forced to watch the worst movies of all time. He and his robot friends, Tom Servo, Crow T. Robot, Gypsy, and Cam-bot, make fun of the movie as it plays and perform comedy skits in-between the film to keep their sanity. The show went through numerous changes, with the main host changing from Joel to Mike, the Mads and robot’s voices changing, even the entire sets changing. By the time the show ended in 1999, the entire cast was completely different from when it first began in 1989. Now, with a revival planned for release in late 2016, with a whole new cast and crew, there has never been a better time to commemorate!

Included in the set would be both of the show’s unwilling hosts, Joel Robinson and Mike Nelson! Of course, all of the ‘Bots from the show would be included as well: Cam-Bot, Gypsy, Tom Servo, and Crow! Every one of the Mads would be included in their locations as well; including Dr. Erhardt, TV’s Frank, Professor Bobo, Brain Guy, and both Dr, Clayton and Pearl Forrester! The set would also include the Satellite of Love, the vessel that trapped Joel, Mike, and the Bots. The host room with “Movie Sign!” lights and buttons, famous hallway doors, and the theater will all be included! This show had talented writers, an original premise, and lasting pop cultural fame to this day. Thanks to Mystery Science Theater, we all take bad movies a little less seriously now, and laugh when there was nothing funny before.

Of course, even if Lego and Best Brains or Netflix could get together on a Mystery Science Theater 3000 set, it might make more sense to use contemporary designs from the forthcoming MST3K reboot/sequel, rather than falling back on the old standards.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 started as a cable access show, where a group of comedians riffed on bad movies. The conceit is that a mad scientist (more than one, as the series progressed) had kidnapped an ordinary guy and was forcing him to watch some of the worst movies ever made in the hopes of finding the one movie so terrible that he could drive humanity mad with it and take over the world. The show aired on various platforms and network from 1988 until 1999, and has been a consistent cult hit online ever since. A revival, funded by Kickstarter, will launch on Netflix later this year.
