On Thursday, ABC announced several surprising cancellations in the programming lineup. One of the shows killed was the long running and beloved Castle.
Series star Nathan Fillion took to Twitter to address the cancellation and thank the fans who stuck with the show and those who he had the pleasure of working with during its run.

All things must end. It has been an honor working with the men and women of Castle. I am truly amazed at what weโve done. Thank you all.

Always the comic, Fillion seems a bit optimistic about his future. He turned to making to jokes following his acknowledgement of Castle’s cancellation. Guardians of the Galaxy director and friend of Fillion’s, James Gunn, had a promising response.
Dear Every Director,

Fillion will be making a cameo appearance in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 but some may look at the role as a spoiler – for more on that, click here. He has previously expressed interested in taking on a Booster Gold role. Maybe now that he is free of the TV schedule of Castle, he’ll be able to realize those hopes.
