Three titles were announced, with the first being an ongoing series simply titled Star Wars, written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder) and drawn by John Cassaday (Uncanny Avengers, Astonishing X-Men). The series picks up after the event of Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, with Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Han Solo leading the Rebel Alliance, emboldened by their successful attack on the Death Star, as it goes on the offensive against the Empire. But things prove more difficult than they’d planned when Darth Vader shows up, with the Imperial Fleet at his back. Star War #1 ships in January.
The final series announced is a 5-issue miniseres, Star Wars: Princess Leia, from writer Mark Waid (Daredevil, Indestructible Hulk) and artist Terry Dodson (Uncanny X-Men, Marvel Knights Spider-Man). Like the other series, Princess Leia picks up after the events of A New Hope, with and sees Leia, a trained diplomat and rebel agent, coming to terms with the destruction of her peaceful homeworld, Alderaan. The first issue arrives in stores in March.
